Name: Leo Da Estrela (actual name: Leo Smith)

Age: 36 (although I still get carded, so that makes me feel good about myself)

After getting off the boat from Portugal in the fall of ’71 Leo and his family settled in the east end of Montreal where he grew up on the busy streets of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

Got the radio bug at CHAM Radio while attending Champlain College in St. Lambert and continued at CFLI while attending Concordia University. When he completed his studies Leo decided to stick to radio because it certainly beat working for a living.

After “working” at most Montreal area radio stations from ’96-’00 Leo came to Q92 in the spring of 2000 to work as the producer of the morning show with Aaron and Tasso and Suzanne. He is also co-host with Patrick Henry Charles of the Saturday morning show from 6am-9am. Along with his on-air duties Leo is also involved in the programming department of Q92.

When he’s not on the radio Leo loves to spend his days with his wife Lynnette, their two sons and bailey the cat.  You may also find him playing the guitar, watching football, listening to music or pouring over the internet.
