Marc Denis...yesterday and today
Marc Denis….4 decades and counting.
First up, it’s the pioneering years of bilingual radio in Montréal during the 70s as Marc ''Mais Oui'' Denis on 980 CKGM followed by stints at Montréal stations CJFM, CKAC and CKOI in the 80s, becoming the first host of CKOI’s popular ''Le Décompte'' countdown program.
Still in the 80s, Marc appears on several lifestyle television programs in Montréal as a pop music and / or new gadgets collaborator on both English and French television (CFCF 12, Télé-Métropole) as well as being the regular co-host of The Muscular Dystrophy Telethon on Télé-Québec for fifteen consecutive years (1981-1995, incl.). Marc Denis also becomes the first vee-jay of a music video special on private television in Québec,''La Grande Nuit Vidéo'', in 1984 on the TVA network. Radio comes calling again in the 90s with a stint at CJFM (by now Mix 96 Montréal) with a Sunday morning retro music and interview show called ''Marc Denis Reeling In The Years''.
Over time, Marc also produces and hosts many pop music and interview programs for the in-flight audio systems of Air Canada, British Airways and Air Transat as well as voicing or appearing in several radio and TV commercials. Marc is Quaker State Motor Oil’s English & French TV spokesperson across Canada from 1988-1993.‘’One tough motor oil..une huile à moteur robuste !’’
Marc much enjoys acting when recruited. He appears twice in the ''Lance et Compte'' series as ''Danny Aubé'' the sports reporter, in the film ''The Young Adventurers'' in the role of millionaire ''Marcel Doucet'' and with Rod Steiger in''The Kid'' as ''Buff'', the boxing ring announcer.
Following 5 years in Toronto (1997-2002) where he holds fort on 97.3 EZRock in English and at CJBC Radio-Canada in French, Marc returns to the airwaves in Montréal on 105.7 Rythme FM in 2002 and 2003 before joining the gang at Montréal’s Q 92 in 2005.
